SHARON BRYANT’S HORSE WINS OKLAHOMA CITY SHOOTOUT

BF Shenanigan, AKA, “Skinny” has had a wonderful comeback the past 2 weeks. Skinny was injured in Memphis, Tennessee the end of November 2006, after clocking the fastest time and winning the “Run for the Bucks” open Championship. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with a fractured hock and has been out of competition since November and healing from this injury. Cody Bauserman, one of Sharon’s jockeys, who currently resides in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, brought Skinny back slowly and got him ready for the big Oklahoma Shootout this past weekend. Along his comeback trail, Cody’s girlfriend assistant trainer, Stephanie Frei rode him in a barrel race which consisted of 160 competitors the weekend before Oklahoma. She ran him really more for the practice or as part of his training and re-conditioning regime to get him ready for the Oklahoma show. Well, he won the show that day by 3 tenths of a second. In other words, he walked away with it and was back and ready for the Oklahoma ahow..
The following weekend, Stephanie rode him in the Oklahoma Shootout, in which there were 2 goes in order to get back into a finals round. The 1st go, Skinny clocked the fastest time out of 850 competitors, but knocked over a barrel, therefore being disqualified. On Saturday night, he had his next and final shot to get in. He got 2nd place behind 11 time World Champion, Charmayne James and qualified back. On Sunday, the top 30 qualifiers out of 1700 runs were to compete in a Shootout race. Skinny and Stephanie were the 26th pair to run and came in firing running a 14.5, the fastest time of the entire show, winning the Shootout. Congratulations to Sharon Bryant and Skinny for being 2 for 2 on his comeback debut.
